Galesville Public Library held the first "Scan Day" on Saturday, January 29, 2011

The staff of the Galesville Public Library celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the library by holding a "Scan Day".  Patrons were encouraged to bring photographs, documents and artifacts to the library on a cold Wisconsin day so they could be digitized. The ResCarta Foundation assisted the staff with training, preparing scans and building a website with the materials.

The library director sent us this note on the following Monday. "This is all just wonderful.  We have received so many positive comments already."

Since that day the Foundation has encouraged libraries, historical societies, museums and church groups to hold "Scan Day" events in order to capture local history before it winds up in a land fill.

If your organization would like to host an event, contact us. We can assist with planning and software support.
